Top Care and Maintenance FAQ
Caesarstone Porcelain is extremely heat resistant, enabling direct contact with hot objects.
Cookware straight from the oven or cooktop may be placed directly on the porcelain benchtop. However, devices that emit constant heat over a long period of time e.g. slow cookers, should be placed on an insulating mat and not directly on the porcelain benchtop.
Absolutely, chips are certainly repairable. The technology is advancing as more products are being produced more commonly. At Caesarstone we use third-party companies to perform repairs.
Yes, Caesarstone Porcelain™ heat resistance has been assessed by the CSIRO infrastructure technology at a NATA testing facility.
The robust properties of Caesarstone Porcelain™ means that it is ideal for use outdoors and is UV stable.
Please consider the following instructions:
- Install Caesarstone Porcelain on a stable, uniform, level base.
- Use adhesives suitable for outdoor use that do not yellow over time.
- If a grill appliance is added to the benchtop:
- The grill should be supported by a dedicated support frame, not by the porcelain material.
- Remove 100 mm of the mesh backing from the distance between benchtop to the grill.
- It is recommended to polish the edges of the cutouts.
- Leave a 10 mm gap between the Caesarstone porcelain benchtop and the grill and fill it with flexible, heat-resistant thermal insulation material.
- Create straight joins behind the grill.
- Maintain a distance of 100 mm between the grill and the wall/splashback.
- In the case of a square/rectangular grill, do not completely surround the grill with the porcelain benchtop – at least one side must be open.
- Do not place appliances that emit heat directly on the Caesarstone Porcelain benchtop, such as pizza ovens, as this does not allow for adequate ventilation and may cause the benchtop to crack. Maintain a height clearance of at least 100 mm between the base of the appliance and the benchtop.
- Please refer to your appliance manufacturer installation instructions/guide to ensure adequate ventilation is applied to the design.
Caesarstone Porcelain is available in our new In-Sync technology (sometimes referred to as salt & pepper body), as leaders in innovation Caesarstone continue to invest in the latest technology.
