Can I have Crystalline Silica Free splashbacks with a gas cooktop?

Crystalline Silica Free stone splashbacks for GAS cooktops require a minimum 200mm gap from the periphery of the gas burner to the stone splashback in accordance with AS/NZS 5601 Gas Installations. It is the customers responsibility to ensure this.

How long does it take to manufacture benchtops?

Generally, manufacture of stone benchtops takes 10 to 15 working days from site measure and may sometimes vary depending on demand. We can let you know the manufacture and delivery times at the time of quoting.

How much time do you require on the day of installation?

Usually, for an average size kitchen, installation may take a couple of hours and may sometimes take half a day or more depending on the size and complexity of the job.

Do you remove and reinstate my kitchen appliances?

No, you are required to arrange this yourself. Cooktops, sinks & all other appliances must be removed prior to stone benchtop installation.

Do you remove my old benchtop or install overlay benchtops?

No, our quotation will be for the supply and installation of new benchtops only. However, in most cases we may be able to install new stone benchtops on top of your existing benchtops if you choose to have overlay benchtops.

Will joins be necessary?

We will try to keep joins to an absolute minimum. We are highly skilled at joining and mixing glue colours to achieve the best joins possible. For an optimum result, consider the size of the slabs of your preferred stone when designing your kitchen & benchtops.

Will veins and or patterns match?

Veins or patterns may not match in stone where a join &/or a change of direction is required. We’ll aim to match veins as close as possible by optimising & manoeuvring slabs allocated for the job.

Can I place hot pots and bakeware directly onto my stone benchtops?

Crystalline Free Silica stone is heat resistant, however, like all stone material, it can be damaged by sudden and rapid temperature changes, which may cause thermal shock, discolouration or damage which can permanently damage the material.

Natural stone can withstand exposure to moderately hot temperatures without being damaged, but extreme temperature changes, whether prolonged, sudden direct contact with, or radiated heat from very hot pots can cause thermal shock, discolouration or damage which can permanently damage the material.

We do not recommend placing any hot kitchen wares (hot oven trays, pans, hot pots, electric frying pans etc.) directly from the hotplate or out of the oven directly onto the stone surface. We always recommend the use of a hot pad or trivet to place hot items on.

Cleaning my stone benchtops?

For every day routine cleaning we recommend wiping your bench top with warm soapy water (a pH neutral household liquid detergent, or a mild detergent) and a damp cloth.

For an occasional thorough clean use a non-abrasive cream cleanser mixed with warm soapy water. Gently wipe over the entire surface with your cleanser and then remove with a non-scratch cloth. Remove all cleaning product and to finish wipe down with a clean, dry cloth to restore the original shine. Never excessively scrub your benchtop as this can cause dulling of the surface.

Do you provide a caulking service after you install the stone?

No. This is best done by a professional caulker.
